About Highpoint Center for Printmaking
Highpoint is the only community-accessible printmaking center in the Upper Midwest. It has introduced thousands of people to the art and technique of printmaking while also providing a cooperative printshop, artist fellowship and residency programs, fine art publishing, and exhibitions.
The Foundation is a longtime supporter of Highpoint’s education and community programs that offer hands-on printmaking experiences at no or low cost to children, teens and community members. School Partnerships’ field trips bring students grades 3-12 into Highpoint’s classroom studio for customized printmaking workshops led by skilled artists and educators. The Access/Print teen mentorship program gives creative youth studio time, tutorials, and support as they work to create a body of work. Free Ink Days open up the studio to the community for hands-on printmaking and creative fun. Other initiatives include the Teaching Artist Learning Community, a paid cohort program for early-career BIPOC artists interested in growing their teaching practice in printmaking, partnerships with non-profits, an Environmental Stewardship initiative with local schools, and internships.
